Getting started and launch
Install
Install Zestly from the Shopify App Store. The app opens in your Shopify admin and the program is already on, with the basic rule: from then on, paid orders earn points. You start on the Free plan, which never expires; change plan whenever you like from Settings › Plan (see pricing).
Terms and data
On first use the app opens Settings › Terms and data: the terms of service and the data processing agreement (DPA) to accept, and later the versions you accepted. You can accept at once or choose «Later». Some clauses are approved separately, with a code sent to the store owner's email. While something is left to accept the Overview reminds you with a banner, but the app never blocks.
Set up the program
In Program › Rules you decide how points are earned, in Program › Rewards what can be redeemed: every kind is in the guide Rules and rewards. Every rule and reward can be paused. VIP tiers and Memberships are in the same section.
Show the program to customers
- The rewards widget is turned on in the theme editor, among the app embeds: no theme code is touched. Online store shows whether it is on in the published theme.
- The rewards page in the customer's account is added to the account menu from Online store › Customer accounts. With Shopify's classic customer accounts there is no rewards page; the widget works.
- Zestly writes the program's frequently asked questions from your rules and rewards: review them in Online store › Frequently asked questions.
Launch
The program is on from the install. Settings › Launch shows a list computed there and then: program, rules and rewards, widget, rewards page, emails, plan, terms and a test order. No step is required.
To get everything ready before customers earn points, press Pause: nobody earns until you start the program again. While the program is paused, the same page has two buttons to restart it:
- Start silently: the program restarts without telling anyone; emails, if you turned them on, go out only for what happens from then on.
- Start and announce: the program restarts and «Sends to members» opens; the announcement goes out only when you confirm it there, after a preview and, if you like, a test send.
